SEND Provision

Abbots Farm Infant School is an inclusive school. We believe that all children should achieve and this includes vulnerable learners too. We endeavour to meet the needs of all the children in our school and make every effort to close the gap in attainment. The teachers provide differentiated learning opportunities and we focus on individual progress as an indicator of success.

We ensure that children with Special Educational Needs or disabilities have every opportunity to attain and achieve in line with their peers. We carefully plan individualised learning programmes which highlight the learning difficulties and set targets. We believe that it is essential to involve parents/carers, teachers and children in the reviewing process and will have regular meetings to discuss and share information. We might sometimes need to involve outside agencies to make assessments to support us in planning and resourcing specific learning needs.

Below is a link to our “Local Offer”. This is where all information about services for children and young people with Special Educational Needs or disabilities is written down in one place. It tells you who will make decisions, and when decisions are made. It is a way of professionals, schools and parents working together.
