As part of your child’s curriculum and the development of their digital skills, Abbots Farm Infant School provides supervised access to the internet and a range of online learning resources. We believe that learning how to use technology safely, responsibly and effectively is an essential life skill for children growing up in the modern world.

Online safety is a key part of our curriculum. We follow the 2BeSafe Online Safety Scheme and all children take part in a weekly online safety lesson. Through these lessons, children learn how to stay safe online, protect their personal information, make responsible choices when using technology and know what to do if they encounter anything that worries them. These lessons help children develop the knowledge and confidence they need to navigate the online world safely and responsibly.

If you have any concerns relating to the online safety of a child in our school, please contact the school office and ask to speak to Mrs Lovejoy, who is our Online Safety Lead and Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).

Our internet provider operates a robust filtering and monitoring system that helps restrict access to inappropriate content while children are using school devices. We recognise that children access technology in many different settings outside school, where filtering systems may not always be in place. For this reason, we work closely with families to promote safe and responsible online behaviour and have provided information and links below to help parents and carers support their children online.
